Kate Chigounis

Professional experience

Kate is Head of Risk & Governance for Nomura Asset Management International, where she leads the firm’s first-line risk and governance function. She is responsible for establishing and embedding risk management strategies to support Nomura Asset Management International in managing and monitoring its risk framework and culture, covering all aspects of the global asset management business. Kate serves on several leadership committees and is a member of the Nomura Asset Management International Management Team. She joined Nomura Asset Management as part of Nomura’s acquisition of Macquarie Asset Management’s US and European public investments business in 2025.

Previously, Kate was Head of Risk Management for the public investments business at Macquarie Asset Management, where she oversaw non-financial risk and investment risk. Before that, she was Head of Operational Risk Management. Prior to Macquarie, she held several internal and external audit roles at Lincoln Financial Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Arthur Andersen.

Kate earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Rutgers University. She holds the Certified Financial Services Auditor^® certification and is a member on the ICI Risk and Internal Audit Committees.
